Dinas raced into a 17-0 lead within thirty-minutes before Llanishen scored a try of their own as the Villagers failed to gather the restart. Both sides then exchanged converted tries and at half-time the ‘Villagers’ led by 24-14.
The second half saw the home side outscore the team from the north of Cardiff by five tries to one. In doing so, they showed enterprise and scintillating rugby played at pace which providing a feast of running rugby for the crowd gathered on the Common. With a final score of 57-19, the Villagers progress into the second round of the competition where they host Swansea side, Birchgrove RFC on the 12th October at the Common.
